Lorentzian Zone

Schematic layout — not a live chart.

What it is

Lorentzian Zone is a chart overlay: Lorentzian k-nearest-neighbors on six features (RSI, WaveTrend, CCI, ADX, Stoch, ROC, plus Volume ROC / MFI in the feature set) with optional z-score, time decay, and a 3-horizon vote. A rational-quadratic kernel (green/red slope) sits on price with a soft Gaussian heatmap ribbon. Triple directional zones — current TF, ~15m, ~1H — are the same size and are drawn after the last candle (gap default 12px, width 3 bars). They never sit on the live bar. Confluence thickens/brightens the HTF border; conflict dims the fill. Pred labels (+/−) sit on the boxes in white; small Buy/Sell tags are optional. k-NN runs once per historical bar and is throttled on the live bar. This is not ML Adaptive SuperTrend and not jdehorty’s classic Lorentzian Classification. Educational analogue only — “this neighborhood often looked like this.” Not financial advice.

What to look for

  • All three zones (TF / 15m / 1H) leaning the same way vs mixed fill (conflict = dimmer)
  • Zones starting to the right of the last candle — if they overlap price, the gap/width settings are wrong
  • Kernel slope agreeing with the zone vote; a red kernel into green zones is a split neighborhood
  • Gaussian ribbon tightness: a tight glow is a clearer analogue than a smear
  • Pred +/− on the boxes, not on the candle — read the projection, not a paintbar
  • Zone flicker on the live bar — classification has no stable neighborhood; wait for a closed bar
  • Agreement with WilsonFlow Timeframe Matrix, not fighting it

Settings that matter

  • k (neighbors) — too small overfits the last few bars; too large washes out the read
  • Feature set / z-score — what “similar” means on this TF and session
  • Zone Gap Px 12 (4–30) · Zone Width Bars 3 — boxes after the last candle, never Left < x0
  • Kernel / Gaussian ribbon on so the slope is readable without hiding flips
  • Do not mix this class with ML Adaptive SuperTrend — separate overlays

Common mistake

Treating the zone as a next-price prediction or drawing it on top of the last candle. It classifies neighborhood similarity and projects after price. If the three TFs conflict, standing aside is the educational answer.
